Successful? or Faithful?

"Deanna, being faithful is way more important than being successful--be faithful not just successful!"
I sat at my table over lunch on Sunday with a New Tribes missionary who is a passionate servant of Jesus.  Though he is older now the wisdom he has passed on & the encouragement he and his wife have been to me is such a blessing!  He said the above words to encourage me as I am at the beginning stages of my ministry with YFC &  haven't been able to get them out of my head all week.

I have decided that at the end of the day it does not matter how much money I have in my pocket, how much I am liked by people around me,  or all the education I've had, what matters is that I have been faithful to where God has called me.  I don't want to give in when the going gets tough, when I've messed up, when I don't see immediate results, when I can't count converts or feel like I am all alone.  I am in this for the long haul & I can't wait for the day when I stand before my God and He says, "Well, done my good & FAITHFUL servant!
GOD, HELP ME FAITHFUL, NOT JUST SUCCESSFUL!

LOVED. SEEN. KNOWN. HEALED.

LOVED. SEEN. KNOWN. HEALED.  These words have become very important to me.  They are words that come to me in prayer often when I sit before God.  My prayer life no longer is a one-way conversation where I only examine my heart before God, but it also is a conversation where I imagine how He feels about my coming to Him. He loves it when I come. He sees me when I come and there's now a deep familiarity between us where we can be with each other with or without using words. The simple invitation is just to "Come!"Don't get me wrong some days there is  too much talking, there is the  shadowy, sinful awareness of myself that can keep me from coming. Yes,  He wants us to see and know what is true of ourselves, but in recent days it has been more simple.  I  just "Come" and hold my heart in all of it's good and bad before Him--the God Who Sees, Loves & Knows. A Prayer for Justice

I recently listened to some teaching on what Scripture says about God’s view on justice. I have been letting these thoughts roll over my soul and realize in me the groaning for true, Godly justice is so real! Most  often I respond compassionately in the middle of the world's injustices even as I wrestle with anger and thoughts of “It’s just NOT supposed to be this way!” Whether the injustices are up close and personal or you see the grossness of injustice systemically...all of it is sinful, ugly and has a schemer behind it that has been out to destroy from the beginning. And to realize that some of the barriers and injustices are things that we as humans cannot remove in our own clever thinking or strength. *Deep breaths* I however am a receiver of mercy and am on the side of the One who sets all things right and came and walked His own journey of being mistreated to save, heal and set the captives free.
